We are Johanna and Andrea Leilich, and we live in the idyllic Palatinate Forest in Germany. Animals—especially dogs—have been a cherished part of our family for many years. Our passion is particularly devoted to Barbets, a versatile and charming dog breed. In 2020, our Barbet female Yara (Dila vom Burgerwald) joined our family, bringing joy alongside Finsch, a small mixed-breed male. In 2023, we welcomed K'gari vom kleinen Arius, Yara’s daughter from our very own litter.

The exceptional traits and friendly character of the Barbet fascinated us so much that, in 2022, we decided to start breeding this wonderful breed with Yara. Our entire family brings heart and commitment to this endeavor. At the moment, we have paused breeding, but we remain open to welcoming another litter in the future.

Yara and K'gari are not only beloved family members, but have also completed hunting training. Additionally, both work as visiting dogs with the ASB, for example in senior citizens’ homes, where they bring lots of joy to people.

Expertise and continuous education are especially important to us. That’s why we have attended many seminars and training courses, such as:

• Theoretical Test for Companion Dog Certification (similar to a dog handler’s license)

• Seminar “Liability – Buying and Selling” (LABOKLIN GmbH & Co. KG, 2021)
• Seminar “Reproductive Medicine” (LABOKLIN GmbH & Co. KG, 2021)

Since 2024, Johanna has also been officially involved as the deputy studbook manager in our association.
